Workshop sessions will deepen participant knowledge of the C3 Framework for teaching the Common Core standards for social studies with an emphasis on:

 

●     Standards-driven planning and instruction within the C3 Framework

●     Learning progressions for teaching critical skills

●     Instructional strategies and techniques (i.e., class activities) for  active student engagement to deepen understanding of critical content

●     Examination of primary source historical documents.

 

 Participants will leave with:

 

●     An understanding of the C3 Framework with particular emphasis on the teaching of civics and       citizenship.

●     A structure for standards-driven unit and lesson planning within the C3 Framework dimensions.

●     Countless instructional strategies and techniques aligned to the focus and rigor of the standards. 

●     A wealth of resources to use with students.

●     Lesson plans to use “on Monday”.

●     16 hours of continuing education for recertification.
